How’d those predictions go?

Way back in January, we decided to avoid making any predictions for 2023. Well, dear reader, we think that was the right call because this year has been anything but predictable. So much so that even the world’s smartest folks can’t figure out what’s happening (and we don’t mean Bard).

Though the verdict is still out on whether generative A.I. will take over the planet or when this crazy market will settle (amongst other things), here at The Devon Group, we have seen plenty of wins at our end:

  • A front-page spread in The New Times’ Sunday Business section.

  • An uptick in broadcast segments, notably on CNBC.

  • More than a few client appearances in The Wall Street Journal.

  • Killer coverage in both trusted and emerging trade publications.

  • New partnerships, new clients, and new tech segments to support.

We’ve also encountered a fair share of surprises:

  • Strong jobs reports, month after month.

  • Ronzoni discontinued pastina.

  • Banks start to collapse for the first time in 15 years.

  • Canada turned the East Coast into a smoke show.

  • Las Vegas won the Stanley Cup.

It’s been quite a ride – and we’re only six months in. So, for the balance of the year, and ahead of Season 2 of The Bear, we’ll take a note from Carmy: “It’s about consistency and being consistent. We can’t operate at a higher level without consistency.”

Yes, chef.
